Marc Bohne - limited and open Edition prints

A little bit about the prints...

Saltmine Fine Art offers a selection of LIMITED and OPEN edition giclee prints of several of Marc Bohne’s paintings. Some have the option of paper or canvas, others are offered on coated canvas only.

All remaining limited edition prints are on paper, and are what is left of the “artist’s proofs” from the original run of 240. There are very few left, and they will not be replaced after these are gone. The Limited Edition Artist Proofs on paper are signed by the artist.

Prints on canvas are not intended to mimic real paintings. Since we produce them locally, we do not allow any automated signing, and no “enhancements”. In addition to the giclee prints being a high quality image print, printing them on canvas allows them to be rolled and shipped easily and safely. Canvas can also be mounted at your local frame shop on a stiff backing material and framed without glass, or stretched onto a frame for a contemporary presentation without a frame. Each print is coated for protection from UV degradation, and environmental exposure.

What is Gislee?

A specialized ink spray process that was developed exclusively for fine art printing .This process referred to as giclee actually means "to spray" in the French language. The artist's image is first digitally photographed. Then, tiny droplets of ink are sprayed onto archival printmaking paper. The image is transferred using the digital image as the reference point.

Upon the completion of the first print, the artist and master printer refine the image through a series of proofs to ensure the color and clarity of the work. Giclee prints are known for their brilliant color and the details and subtleties they capture.

These fine art prints represent the finest balance between workmanship, archival paper and dye permanance that is available today. Added years of enjoyment will be yours if you protect these prints from direct sunlight and flourescent lighting, as you would any fine work of art.
